Unusual refrigerator noise.
Rattling, scraping, clicking or a new persistent sound.
What may be happening
A cabinet touching nearby furniture, unsteady feet, a fan obstruction or starting-component fault may create noise. Some hums and clicks are normal.
What you can safely check
Note when the noise happens and whether cooling has changed. Check that bottles are not rattling and the cabinet is not touching furniture. Avoid moving a heavy fridge alone.
How a technician approaches it
A technician can distinguish fan, mounting and compressor-related noise. Repeated clicking with poor cooling needs testing rather than assuming a compressor replacement.
Before you call
Note when the problem began, whether one or both compartments are affected, any displayed code and the exact model number. Avoid repeated restarts or changing several settings at once.
Get the fault checked
Independent service is available for out-of-warranty appliances, subject to local and model availability. Visits start at ₹500; parts and repair labour are quoted after diagnosis.
