The light is on, but the food is not staying cold.
What may be happening
Incorrect settings, blocked vents, a poor door seal or a component fault can reduce cooling. A light alone does not confirm the compressor is operating.
What you can safely check
Check the selected temperature and make sure food is not blocking air vents. Check that the door closes completely. Follow your manual for clearance around the cabinet.
How a technician approaches it
A technician can test fans, sensors, compressor starting components and the sealed system. Refrigerant should not be added without diagnosing the cause.
Before you call
Note when the problem began, whether one or both compartments are affected, any displayed code and the exact model number. Avoid repeated restarts or changing several settings at once.
